Human Rights and Impunity for International Crimes - Where Next?

The 2026 Alf Dubs Annual Lecture was held on the 5th February 2026 in the Grand Hall, Battersea Arts Centre.

It was delivered by international human rights lawyer and author, Professor Philippe Sands KC.

Philippe drew on the stories told in his books, from East West Street  to 38 Londres Street  and the claim to immunity from those whose official conduct is said to give rise to crimes under international law. The lecture also covered the current threat to human rights and the role of the European Convention on Human Rights in the UK.
